Currently, DSJ Global is partnered with a leading manufacturing organization committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement. Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to enhance the mechanical reliability of their maintenance systems and programs. This role is pivotal in promoting safe operations, leading repair projects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality finished goods.
The Mechanical Engineer will operate in alignment with established safety, legal, and compliance standards. This role involves managing capital projects, leading engineering initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will:
· Ensure all work complies with safety policies and results in an incident-free environment
· Evaluate projects for safety hazards prior to installation
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
· Lead reliability maintenance activities aligned with KPI and P&L goals
· Manage repair projects and contribute to budget forecasts
· Support environmental stewardship and machinery knowledge development
· Develop and train personnel to support succession planning and technical growth
The Mechanical Engineer should have:
· B.S. degree in Engineering or related field
· 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
· Paper/pulp industry experience preferred but not required
· Longevity/good tenure in previous role
· Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
