Mechanical Technical Specialist
We're partnering with a leading industrial manufacturer to identify a Mechanical Technical Specialist to support maintenance and operations within a heavy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and restore production during breakdowns
- Support maintenance teams with technical guidance and problem-solving
- Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions
- Assist with outage planning, equipment upgrades, major repairs, and small capital projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience supporting mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting experience with industrial hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience supporting equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, compressors, and other rotating machinery
- Background in heavy industry such as metals, automotive, aerospace, paper, chemical processing, or similar manufacturing environments
- Strong maintenance and root cause problem-solving experience
Preferred Experience:
- PLC troubleshooting
- Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma
- Gas-fired combustion systems, furnaces, kilns, or burners
- Union manufacturing environments
- Lead, trainer, or supervisory experience
- Metals manufacturing (aluminum, steel, tin, foundry, rolling, casting, etc.)
