Production Manager
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a packaging production environment, with a focus on safety, personnel management, facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, and production efficiency. The manager will play a key role in aligning operational activities with customer expectations and organizational goals, particularly within the converting segment of the facility.
As part of the site's leadership team, this individual will guide plant operations, ensuring optimal use of materials, tools, and equipment to maintain productivity and meet project timelines. The role also involves mentoring team members and supporting the professional development and performance evaluation of direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate plant operations through strategic planning and collaboration with supervisory staff to meet production targets efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Analyze customer specifications to identify areas for operational improvement and implement changes to enhance satisfaction.
- Maintain and promote safety initiatives to ensure consistent adoption and compliance across the facility.
- Contribute innovative ideas to support departmental goals, drive continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement and customer retention.
- Facilitate clear communication across internal and external stakeholders to strengthen relationships and ensure product quality.
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting and cost control, to improve overall profitability.
- Monitor waste reduction efforts to manage costs and support environmental sustainability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (minimum 7 years in a related manufacturing leadership role).
- Extensive experience in the packagining manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production scheduling tools.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, just-in-time production setting.
- Expertise in process optimization and lean manufacturing principles.
- Results-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and execution.
- Adaptability to evolving operational demands and information updates.
- Experience leading change initiatives and deploying lean methodologies.
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., Six Sigma).
