About the job

My client is looking for a Project Director - Technical Program Management (Home Appliances)with own brands within R&D department, for a global consumer home appliances group with regional office in Asia.

The role is to be responsible for the management and empowerment of the technical project manager team, coordinating project delivery from R&D to mass production. Leveraging cross-departmental collaboration to drive R&D resources, resolve key technical issues, and ensure project goals are achieved. Continuously identify process and mechanism issues during delivery, promoting optimisation and improvement to create a closed loop.

Job Responsibilities:

System Building and Digital Management:

Based on company strategy and product road map, build and iterate a full-process technical project management framework from R&D to mass production, leading the implementation and optimisation of the IPD process, introducing digital tools and data analysis platforms to achieve visualised control over the entire project life cycle.

Overall Project Delivery Coordination:

Take full responsibility for the delivery results of all product R&D to mass production technical projects, supervise the execution of key projects, identify and mitigate various risks, establish a suitable performance evaluation system, link with business operations to align with commercial goals, and ensure both project and commercial success.

Team Management and Capability Empowerment:

Lead the technical project manager team, build a tiered training system, focus on improving professional skills and technical insights, create a results-oriented team culture, and stimulate team execution and creativity through incentive and assessment mechanisms.

Resource Coordination and Dynamic Allocation:

Plan project resources across the entire chain from R&D to mass production, prepare budgets and dynamically balance the needs of multiple projects, prioritising the supply of resources for core technology projects to maximise resource utilisation efficiency.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Closed-Loop Processes:

Lead cross-functional resource collaboration, break down departmental silos, chair key meetings to drive decision implementation; continuously review process pain points, lead the optimisation of solutions and verify their effectiveness, forming closed-loop management to improve organisational delivery efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering, computer science, electronic information, or a related field, with experience in electronic or structural development.
  • Over 10 years of experience in consumer electronics/smart hardware technology project management, proficient in IPD processes and project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile, with successful experience in building and implementing technical project management systems and processes.
  • Extensive experience in multinational/overseas project collaboration, familiar with overseas market technical standards, regulations, and user needs, and able to efficiently deliver cross-regional technical projects.
  • Strong strategic thinking and system building capabilities, able to translate business strategies into project goals, accurately identify process bottlenecks and drive closed-loop optimisation, balancing delivery efficiency and business value.
  • Excellent leadership and cross-departmental influence, skilled in team empowerment and coaching management, able to coordinate resources, resolve conflicts, and lead teams to overcome complex technical project challenges.
  • Mandarin Chinese speaking is desired, based in China.
