Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to lead their sourcing and purchasing operations. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, vendor negotiation, and cost control within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and production schedules.
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Analyze market trends and assess risks to ensure supply chain continuity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to forecast demand and manage budgets.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CPM, APICS).
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with local and international sourcing regulations.
