Quality Manager

The Plant Quality Manager will lead the Quality function at a manufacturing facility supporting the aerospace industry. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21, and EASA Part 21 requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining product quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and compliance within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and internal quality standards.
• Manage certification activities, surveillance audits, and recertification efforts.
• Ensure compliance with FAA and EASA Part 21 requirements; conduct internal audits and support customer and regulatory audits.
• Drive timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause investigations.
• Implement and support AS9145 (APQP/PPAP) methodologies for aerospace programs, including process validation, deliverables, and risk mitigation activities.
• Provide quality leadership for new product introductions, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee nonconformance investigations, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and resolution of quality issues.
• Conduct FMEA risk assessments and facilitate root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Monitor quality metrics and KPIs; use data analysis and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to drive measurable improvements.
• Partner closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure process control, product conformity, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21, and EASA Part 21 requirements.
• Experience leading audits, CAPA programs, root cause investigations, and quality management systems.
• Proficiency with aerospace quality tools and methodologies, including APQP, SPC, FMEA, control plans, inspection processes, and statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP.
• Demonstrated success driving quality improvements through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating across engineering, operations, and supply chain functions.
• Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, AS9100/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CMQ/OE, or related certifications are preferred.
• Experience with ERP and Quality Management Systems (QMS) platforms is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
