Company Summary

A growing specialty ingredients manufacturer serving the personal care and cosmetics industry is seeking an R&D Engineer II to join its innovation team. This role will support the development of new ingredient technologies through laboratory synthesis, process development, scale-up, and commercialization activities while partnering closely with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Technical teams.

The R&D Engineer II will be responsible for:

  • Conducting lab-scale synthesis and process development experiments for new ingredient technologies.
  • Supporting the development, optimization, and scale-up of chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product development and commercialization efforts.
  • Evaluating new feedstocks, chemistries, and process technologies to support innovation initiatives.
  • Supporting technical transfer activities from laboratory development through pilot and commercial manufacturing.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and process improvement efforts for commercial products and manufacturing processes.
  • Documenting experimental results, preparing technical reports, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders.

The R&D Engineer II should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience with chemical synthesis, process development, or scale-up activities.
  • Understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and technical transfer principles.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team environment.
