Overview

An innovative and rapidly growing logistics organization is seeking a Road Director to lead and develop its operations across one of Europe's most important transportation markets.

This is a senior leadership role combining commercial ownership, operational leadership, and full P&L responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening carrier relationships, leading local teams, and ensuring operational excellence across the Benelux region.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the overall performance of the Benelux business, including revenue growth, profitability, and operational execution.
• Manage the regional P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, margin performance, and financial planning.
• Develop and execute the commercial strategy, identifying growth opportunities and strengthening customer relationships.
• Lead and develop the local carrier operations team, ensuring capacity availability, service reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive business development activities and support the growth of existing customer accounts.
• Analyse market developments, industry trends, and competitive activity to identify risks and opportunities.
• Ensure operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
• Leverage technology, automation, and data-driven decision-making to improve business performance.
• Report regularly to senior leadership on market developments, business performance, and strategic initiatives.

Profile

• Minimum of 10 years experience within logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or road freight.
• Proven leadership experience with responsibility for commercial, operational, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated track record of managing a P&L and delivering sustainable business growth.
• Strong understanding of carrier operations, road transportation networks, and freight market dynamics.
• Experience managing strategic customer relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and develop successful teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across multiple functions.
• Commercially driven with a hands-on and entrepreneurial leadership style.
