Senior Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

Overview

A rapidly growing specialty chemical manufacturer is seeking a Senior Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to lead reliability and asset management initiatives at a newly built $252 million chemical manufacturing facility. This individual will serve as the site's reliability subject matter expert, driving mechanical integrity, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement efforts across a highly technical process manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the site's Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Program.
  • Develop and execute reliability strategies for critical production assets.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify failure trends and reliability improvements.
  • Conduct failure mode assessments and develop preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs alongside maintenance teams.
  • Optimize CMMS utilization and data integrity efforts.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and capital projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM requirements and mechanical integrity standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, process, and technical support teams.

What You'll Bring

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering plus 8+ years of maintenance and reliability experience; or 15+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Strong experience implementing OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, NFPA, API, and OSHA mechanical integrity and reliability standards.
  • Expertise with reliability methodologies including RCM, FMEA, and RCA.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms, preferably Maximo.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause investigation capabilities.
  • Project management experience with multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
