Service Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and self-driven Service Manager with a strong entrepreneurial mindset to lead service operations across North America. This role is responsible for driving growth, overseeing project execution, and delivering high-quality service solutions to customers.
The Service Manager will lead a regional team of technical experts, manage customer relationships, and identify opportunities to expand service offerings. This individual will own the full lifecycle of service projects, from proposal development through execution and delivery.
*Remote role based out of Northern CA*
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Drive growth across service offerings including maintenance (OPEX), capital projects (CAPEX), digital solutions, and spare parts
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement
- Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
- Lead promotion and sales of new service offerings
- Manage and track opportunities within CRM systems
Proposals & Customer Interface:
- Develop competitive service proposals in collaboration with project management teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the proposal process
- Oversee warranty-related service work
Project Execution & Operations:
- Ensure successful execution of service and spare parts projects within the region
- Serve as the primary customer-facing lead for active projects
- Own full P&L responsibility for the regional service function
- Manage field resources, technical staff, and subcontractors
- Oversee scheduling, utilization, and billable performance of technical teams
- Support annual sales and operational planning
- Manage invoicing and support payment collections
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a similar service, operations, or project leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Proven leadership experience with direct team management responsibility
- Strong sales track record with demonstrated ability to close business
- Experience managing customer-facing projects from proposal through execution
- Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, power generation systems, or similar industrial equipment (hydro experience strongly preferred)
- Highly motivated, accountable, and results-driven
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM and ERP system experience preferred
- Spanish language skills are a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 40% to customer and project sites
