A leader in advanced materials and manufacturing solutions, specializing in aluminum sheet, plate, extrusions, and architectural products that power industries like aerospace, automotive, transportation, and construction is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer. The Staff Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical systems for hot rolling operations, leading projects, upgrading PLC/HMI controls, troubleshooting equipment, and implementing innovative solutions to improve reliability and process performance in collaboration with production and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of electrical engineering projects: concept, scope, specifications, bidding, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and closure.
- Lead and collaborate on problem-solving with technical staff, maintenance, and production teams.
- Analyze process issues using PI Vision and Data Link; recommend solutions.
- Design and implement electrical control systems to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of equipment and process issues.
- Upgrade PLC/HMI systems and controls for existing processes.
- Install and maintain industrial camera systems.
- Apply SMART Manufacturing principles to automated inspection systems for improved data collection and recovery.
- Mentor team members on equipment and processes as needed.
- Provide off-hours support when required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience.
- At least 3 years in designing, installing, and maintaining electromechanical systems.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (ITAR compliance required).
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives, motors, and measuring devices.
- 3+ years leading electrical projects.
- Experience in highly industrial manufacturing settings.
- Skilled in Rockwell programming software (RS Logix, FactoryView).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project.
