About the Role

We are seeking a Utilities & Services Project Engineer to join our client's European engineering team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of utility systems across their food production facilities. You will manage projects from concept to completion, optimise energy usage, and contribute to environmental performance improvements. Key Responsibilities

1. Utility Systems Management

  • Oversee and monitor media supply systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, steam, water, refrigeration) to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines and minimising downtime.

2. Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

  • Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency across existing systems.
  • Implement environmentally responsible solutions, including waste heat recovery, water conservation, and emissions reduction initiatives.

3. Project Management

  • Lead projects from preliminary planning and budgeting through contract negotiation and execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Prepare technical analyses, simulations, and feasibility studies to support decision-making.

4. Technical Expertise & Reporting

  • Conduct building condition surveys and develop expert reports, including profitability assessments and ROI calculations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations and innovative engineering solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Degree in Supply Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy & Environmental Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Solid experience in HVAC systems, media supply, or compressed air systems-preferably within the food industry.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and experience working in an international environment.
  • Manufacturing experience is a must

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical skills for technical simulations and cost-benefit evaluations.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a talent for conflict resolution and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Language & Travel

  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Valid driver's license.
