Our role of Assistant QA Manager plans, coordinates, and manages the Quality Assurance Program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. In this role, you will continue developing, implementing, and maintaining our Quality Assurance Program and overseeing the HACCP programs, analyzing customer contact trends, microbiological trends, and developing strategies and programs for improved product safety, quality, and department productivity.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Inspection of production floor including HACCP and quality checks
- Addressing all GMP and SSOP violations with both production management and team members
- Corrective Action and Preventative Action
- Verification of prerequisite and quality programs: Pest Control, Hold, Receiving, Cure Log, etcโฆ
- Orientation Training (new hires)
- Conduct yearly GMP, HACCP, Allergen, Pest Control training
- Internal Auditing
- COA verification and release
- Pre-shipment review
- Inventory Control and shipping
- Export documentation
- Organize customer complaints and retained sampling program
- Train and develop all new and current QA technicians
- Assist with the selection of products for testing, perform weight control checks, assist with micro sampling, testing, and verify HACCP and quality checks.
- Trend analysis for ATP swabbing
- Temperature verifications and Oven validations
- Hold monthly safety committee meetings and reviews all safety concerns.
- Customer and SQF audits
- Audit the plant for compliance with USDA/FDA regulations and review for compliance.
- Audit the plant for compliance with various customer requirements.
- Supervise QA support team members
The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or relevant discipline preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in a food-manufacturing environment. USDA regulated facility preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including Microsoft Office package required.
- HACCP, SSOP's and GMP's knowledge required.
- GFSI audit experience required; customer and BRC audit experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation processes preferred.
