DSJ Global is partnered with a global leader of the manufacturing of ice machines, refrigerators, freezers and food service equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join their team out of Griffin, Georgia.
Mechanical Engineering Manager Overview:
Supervises the creation and execution of manufacturing methods aimed at upholding product functionality while optimizing costs. Facilitates cohesive collaboration among the engineering team and various departments. Actively oversees production activities, dedicating significant time to the production floor. Takes charge of devising machinery to streamline the manufacturing process. Leverages extensive expertise and discernment to strategize and achieve objectives.
Mechanical Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage a team engineers and technicians who evaluate machinery, plan and develop projects, work with production, improve processes, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Responsible for setting direction for the team, establishing goals and objectives, and establishing and executing a plan to achieve these and other key company objectives.
- Plans, prioritizes, and oversees engineering projects. Ensures that projects are completed on-time, within budget and according to project specifications. Identifies potential issues and applies resources to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Promotes safety in the workplace, quality in our product, improve production efficiency, and implement cost saving activities.
- Oversees the research and development of new processes and procedures as well as assist implementation of projects.
- Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical direction to engineers and supporting staff. Sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews.
- Monitors and approves department expenditures and budgets relating to projects and activities.
- Participates and leads high level cost reduction and product support projects.
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years in Manufacturing Environment
- Experience in managing a team
