DSJ Global is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety operations at a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, compliance with regulatory standards, and the continuous improvement of our safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with PSM standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance and support to all departments on safety-related matters, promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Design and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of operations and project planning.
- Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging safety technologies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors regarding safety compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within the chemical manufacturing industry or other highly regulated environments.
- Proven experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and a track record of developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for training and influencing others.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.
