Sr. Manager, Aviation Engineering
A well-established and growing aerospace component repair organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Aviation Engineering to help lead and shape the future of its engineering function.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly specialized operation focused on the repair and refurbishment of critical aircraft engine components. The organization has experienced significant growth while maintaining a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and is looking for an engineering leader who can serve as the bridge between engineering, production, and executive leadership.
The position will combine both technical and leadership responsibilities. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and shop floor personnel, drive engineering priorities, oversee tooling and fixture development, ensure projects stay on track, and ultimately become the key engineering leader for the site. The role offers significant visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to help build and develop the engineering team as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day engineering activities and project execution
- Drive tooling, fixture, and repair process development
- Partner closely with production and operations teams
- Manage engineering priorities, schedules, and deliverables
- Provide technical leadership and updates to senior management
- Support future growth and development of the engineering function
- Mechanical Engineering degree or similar technical background
- Experience within repair, overhaul, refurbishment, re-manufacturing, MRO, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Tooling, fixture, manufacturing process, or repair engineering experience
- Leadership or engineering management experience
- Hands-on approach with the ability to build credibility on the shop floor
- Aerospace experience is preferred, though candidates from defense, automotive, industrial equipment, and other regulated industries may be considered
