Commodity Manager
This manufacturer is looking for a Commodity Manager that will drive sourcing strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support next‑generation product development for electrical components categories. In this role, you will develop and execute commodity strategies, collaborate closely with engineering and business teams, and build a resilient, high-performing global supply base. You will work at a strategic level, influencing decisions across engineering, operations, and leadership teams, while maintaining deep technical and commercial relationships with global suppliers. Your expertise will guide choices around technology roadmaps, capacity planning, cost management, and supplier development.
The Commodity Manager will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute long-term commodity strategies that enhance agility, reduce risk, and support business growth.
- Analyze market trends to ensure a best-in-class approach to cost, quality, and supply continuity.
- Mitigate supply chain challenges related to logistics, material availability, and supplier capability.
- Support new product teams by identifying supplier opportunities, assessing new technologies, and ensuring supply readiness for upcoming launches.
- Drive supplier performance improvements, ensuring service levels, delivery targets, and quality metrics are consistently met.
The Commodity Manager should have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in the electronic components industry, including 3+ years in commodity management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship skills.
- Experience with global supply bases and executive‑level vendor interactions.
- Comfortable with travel
