About the Opportunity
Our client is a global leader in advanced materials and electronic manufacturing solutions, serving customers across semiconductor, electronics assembly, automotive, telecommunications, data infrastructure, and related high-growth industries.
They are seeking a Director, Wave & Wire to lead a significant global business portfolio with full responsibility for growth, profitability, portfolio strategy, and innovation. This individual will serve as a key business leader, partnering across product management, sales, R&D, engineering, finance, operations, and supply chain functions to drive long-term success.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an executive who combines strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and product leadership experience within the electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, or advanced materials sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & P&L Ownership
- Own the global Wave & Wire product portfolio, including revenue growth, profitability, margin performance, forecasting, and long-term business success.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio planning activities.
- Monitor business performance and implement initiatives that drive sustainable growth and profitability.
- Partner with finance and procurement teams to optimize pricing strategies and overall business performance.
Portfolio Strategy & Product Management
- Define and execute the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the product portfolio.
- Lead portfolio lifecycle management, including pricing, product positioning, SKU optimization, and investment prioritization.
- Identify market opportunities, portfolio gaps, and adjacent growth opportunities.
- Evaluate and prioritize business initiatives to maximize market share and profitability.
- Drive customer segmentation and portfolio expansion strategies.
Innovation & Commercialization
- Lead technology roadmap planning and execution.
- Partner with R&D and engineering teams to align innovation investments with market needs and business objectives.
- Oversee new product development priorities and successful product commercialization efforts.
- Ensure innovation programs support both short-term business needs and long-term growth initiatives.
Commercial Strategy & Market Development
- Collaborate with commercial leadership to develop and execute growth strategies globally.
- Drive value proposition development and market positioning efforts.
- Support key customer initiatives, strategic account activities, and market expansion plans.
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and emerging technologies.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of Product Management professionals.
- Foster collaboration across commercial, technical, and operational functions worldwide.
- Influence executive stakeholders and ensure alignment around strategic priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational and commercial excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience within electronics materials, electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, advanced materials, specialty chemicals, or related industries.
- Proven experience leading a product line, business unit, portfolio, or commercial organization.
- Demonstrated ownership of significant P&L responsibility.
- Experience managing and developing Product Managers or related business leadership teams.
- Strong background in portfolio management, commercialization, pricing strategy, and business growth initiatives.
- Experience working across global markets and cross-functional organizations.
- Knowledge of new product development, technology roadmapping, and product lifecycle management processes.
- Strong strategic, analytical, financial, and leadership capabilities.
