Product Controls Engineer
Join Our Team as a Product Engineer - Mobile Equipment Controls
We're looking for a passionate and driven Product Engineer to join our Product Development team, specializing in Mobile Equipment Controls. In this role, you'll serve as the critical link between customer needs and engineering innovation-helping shape the future of our mobile product portfolio. You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, and customers to ensure our solutions are not only technically robust but also exceed market expectations.
What You'll Do
- Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle-from concept to production.
- Design, analyze, and document mobile system layouts and control solutions.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, sales, and customers to ensure designs are both technically sound and commercially viable.
- Lead testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mobile control systems and devices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specs and user manuals.
- Stay ahead of market trends and customer feedback to drive continuous product improvement.
- Support product launches, customer training, and technical troubleshooting for both customers and distribution partners.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for I/O systems and mobile controls.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering, Fluid Power, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering (mobile systems experience is a plus).
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, sensors, motors, and fieldbus protocols (J1939, CANOpen preferred).
- Proficiency with controls platforms and logic programming (e.g., CODESYS, Rockwell, Siemens).
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in automation/controls engineering.
- Background in mobile equipment, agricultural machinery, or hydraulic/electrical control systems.
- Familiarity with C, Structured Text, or Python.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, such as technical sales or product launches.
