Senior Process Engineer
The Process Engineer plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by leveraging technical expertise to execute production plans safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for driving reliable, cost-effective production processes that consistently meet quality standards and customer expectations. The role requires a strong understanding of core engineering principles, along with working knowledge of related disciplines, to troubleshoot issues and resolve complex operational challenges. In addition, the Process Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align production objectives, coordinate maintenance activities, and achieve cost performance targets while maintaining compliance with established safety standards, operating procedures, and process parameters.
Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with operations personnel to provide technical guidance and support for manufacturing activities.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for daily production challenges and coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve process disruptions.
- Track, analyze, and classify production losses that impact operational targets and supply commitments.
- Gather and evaluate data related to yield performance, energy consumption, and sustainability initiatives to support cost and environmental objectives.
- Assess equipment reliability, downtime trends, and recurring maintenance issues to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
- Provide rapid support and technical leadership during plant upsets, emergencies, and critical operational events.
- Serve as the primary technical resource during unexpected process incidents, driving root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive solutions.
- Optimize raw material utilization, utility consumption, and process efficiency to reduce waste and improve plant performance.
- Maintain and enhance operating procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with site requirements.
- Evaluate interactions across plant systems and contribute recommendations to improve overall manufacturing effectiveness.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies, business awareness, and value-driven decision-making to enhance profitability and operational performance.
- Champion safety, product quality, customer service, and operational reliability across the facility.
- Design, coordinate, and support training initiatives for operators and supervisors to improve workforce competency and performance.
Ideal Skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required; a concentration in Chemical Engineering is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical processing industry.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification credentials are considered an asset.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities with the confidence to engage across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
