About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Operations Manager (SOM) to lead our facility's operations and drive the safe, efficient, and effective flow of inventory. This role is pivotal in managing a team of Operations Supervisors, forecasting production volume, and adapting resources to meet dynamic store demands. The SOM will champion safety, performance, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of accountability and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across the facility, ensuring inventory moves safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and mentor Operations Supervisors, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Monitor and adjust staffing and resources to meet fluctuating production volumes.
- Drive a culture of safety through observations, coaching, and proactive issue resolution.
- Communicate business objectives and workload plans to teams and senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent processes and customer satisfaction.
- Report on key performance and financial metrics to upper management and corporate.
- Identify and implement process improvements aligned with corporate initiatives.
- Manage HR-related matters including attendance, pay, benefits, and workplace accommodations.
- Attract, hire, and develop top talent across operational roles.
- Lead teams through change and support career growth and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in distribution center operations or related area (7+ years if no degree).
- Proven leadership experience with direct reports, including salaried team members.
- Strong background in mentoring, coaching, and leading teams through change.
- Skilled in resource management, budgeting, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience with corporate-led initiatives or leadership roles in supply chain facilities.
