Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 base
Summary:
A specialized manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense industry is seeking a Buyer to manage tactical purchasing for complex, mission-critical components. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean manufacturing environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats across the procurement process.
Responsibilities:
- Execute tactical purchasing activities for engineered products with intricate parts and assemblies
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Ensure compliance with ITAR, FAR, and DFAR regulations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, contracts, and MRO teams
- Maintain ERP records and purchasing documentation (IFS system preferred)
- Support government contract requirements and approval processes
- Manage supplier relationships and performance metrics
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or regulated industries
- Bachelor's degree required
- Familiarity with government contracts, ITAR, FAR/DFAR
- Experience with ERP systems (IFS highly preferred)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check (required for explosive materials licensing)
- Automotive or defense industry experience is a plus
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, hands-on environment
