As part of a succession plan due to retirement, our client is seeking a Project Leader (m/f/d) to join their team in Freiburg. This is a key role within the Product Development & Technical Service department, offering the opportunity to lead exciting development projects and contribute to cutting-edge material solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead product development and optimization projects on a laboratory scale.
- Operate coating, laminating, and metallizing processes for web-like substrates.
- Manage development projects from concept to production scale.
- Formulate new coating and adhesive systems and create production-ready recipes.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate machine trials to scale up laboratory developments.
- Identify and test alternative raw materials for existing products.
- Develop measurement protocols and support equipment procurement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of hazardous substances and coating materials.
- Manage laboratory inventory and ordering processes.
- Represent the company at supplier visits, customer meetings, and industry trade fairs.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified coatings lab technician or similar (e.g., CTA, chemical laboratory technician).
- Experience with water-based and solvent-based coatings and adhesives.
- Ideally, prior experience in the coatings or surface finishing industry.
- Strong color vision and attention to detail.
- Passion for innovation and hands-on project work.
- Structured working style with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
- Fluent in German (spoken and written); good English proficiency.
