Commercial Director (Automotive Vertical)

We are partnering with a leading global logistics organisation to appoint a commercially driven Sales Director to lead growth across the automotive sector in Europe. This role can be based anywhere in Europe and requires fluency in German, with a strong focus on developing strategic relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and key automotive stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business, expanding key accounts, and delivering tailored logistics solutions across complex, time-critical automotive supply chains. This is a high-impact position suited to a results-oriented sales leader with deep industry expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on automotive clients across Europe
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within OEMs and supplier networks
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the automotive sector
- Design and deliver tailored logistics solutions across freight forwarding and contract logistics
- Collaborate with internal operations, engineering, and procurement teams to support solution delivery
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and contract development
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity within the automotive space
- Deliver against revenue, margin, and growth targets across multiple European markets
Key Requirements:
- Fluency in German and strong experience operating across European markets
- Proven track record in logistics sales within freight forwarding or contract logistics
- Deep understanding of automotive supply chains, including OEMs and Tier suppliers
- Demonstrated success in developing new business and growing key accounts
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to deliver tailored, value-driven solutions in complex, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
