Director of Process Engineering
A leading organization is seeking experienced Process Engineers to act as an SME to support the design and implementation of dairy processing systems in a new facility. Ideal candidates will have strong expertise in dairy unit operations, equipment, and manufacturing technologies, along with experience in both system design and operational support. This role will work closely with project leadership overseeing facility construction. The Principal Process Engineer position is a director-level, individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Process Design: Contribute to the design and development of dairy processing systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with project managers, operations, quality, and other teams to integrate engineering solutions effectively.
- Risk & Safety Management: Proactively identify and address potential risks to ensure safe and reliable process operations.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain thorough documentation and communicate clearly with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to vendor sites and other facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Industry Experience: 10+ years in process engineering, with preferred experience in hygienic design, cultured dairy products, aseptic processing, and familiarity with PLC and logic controls.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in process simulation tools, CAD software, and other engineering applications.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas clearly.
- Leadership & Adaptability: Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, attention to detail, and effectiveness in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
