Director of Sales

Our Client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to spearhead business growth initiatives, with a strategic focus on acquiring new customers and expanding market presence.

Key Performance Indicators

Sales

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective business opportunities.

  • Expand international key account relationships.

  • Strategically target verticals and trade lanes in alignment with business objectives.

  • Conduct research to identify potential clients across local, domestic, and global markets.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients.

  • Respond to and generate sales leads from overseas markets.

  • Maintain high levels of sales activity to achieve performance targets.

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records within company databases and CRM systems.

Staff Performance & Engagement

  • Effectively manage individual staff performance, including addressing disciplinary matters.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, ensuring a positive and supportive workplace aligned with core values: Integrity, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Empowerment.

  • Develop career pathways for key staff members through structured training and mentoring initiatives.

Directorship

  • Act in good faith and in the best interests of the company, in accordance with the Companies Act 1993.

  • Establish policies, make strategic decisions, and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory documents.

  • Organize company meetings, including shareholder meetings.

  • Maintain essential records and legal documentation.

  • Authorize contracts with suppliers, lenders, and business partners.

Teamwork & Business Development

  • Demonstrate a commitment to company ethics and values.

  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships across departments.

  • Support the senior management team with ad-hoc responsibilities.

  • Provide solid financial data to support operational decision-making.

  • Implement controls to ensure adherence to group policies and objectives.

Financial Awareness

  • Maintain financial oversight by monitoring and analyzing daily financial operations.

  • Identify discrepancies within costings, invoices, and financial data processes.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist management in compiling accurate reports.

  • Provide ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Uphold quality and compliance standards by maintaining a deep understanding of standard operating procedures.

Health & Safety

  • Actively support the company's health and safety program, adhering to policies and procedures.

  • Promote a safe working environment for all employees.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential:

  • Proven track record in sales and business development within the New Zealand logistics industry.

  • Self-starter with a positive and proactive mindset.

  • Strong experience in managing sales visits, pipelines, and reporting via CRM tools.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.

  • Resourceful, results-driven, and customer-focused approach.

  • Effective team player with a commitment to professional excellence.
