EHS Engineer

Job Description:
The EHS Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role involves developing and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across operations. The EHS Engineer works closely with production, maintenance, and regulatory teams to minimize hazards and ensure safe handling of chemicals and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Manage hazardous waste disposal and chemical inventory tracking.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve workplace safety.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for permits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process safety management (PSM) protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in chemical or process manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Certification in CSP, CIH, or similar is a plus.
