EHS Manager
Job description
Seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will oversee all environmental, health, and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations. Responsibilities include training staff, conducting audits, and managing EHS projects. Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree and have at least ten years of experience in the chemical industry.

Compensation: 90-120k
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
- 10+ years of EHS experience in the chemical industry
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations
- Experience working within chemical manufacturing processes
- Background in audits, CAPA programs, and compliance systems
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize under pressure
- Strong communication skills with ability to work across operations, leadership, and external agencies
- Comfortable managing confidential information and regulatory requirements
- Able to multi-task in fast-paced environments and maintain composure
- Physically able to perform plant-related duties (walking, lifting, inspections, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Lead all site-level EHS compliance and regulatory initiatives
- Manage environmental programs including hazardous waste, air, water, SPCC, and SWPPP
- Oversee CalARP and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
- Conduct and lead safety training, on-boarding, and monthly safety meetings
- Run daily, bi-weekly, and formal audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Drive incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Maintain regulatory reporting systems and compliance documentation
- Oversee emergency response teams, drills, and crisis communication plans
- Coordinate OSHA programs, medical surveillance, and safety equipment inspections
- Partner with operations and engineering on safe execution of plant projects
- Manage EHS programs, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support and participate in internal/external audits and regulatory inspections
