Electrical Engineer

A growing power electronics company located in the scenic mountains of North Carolina is hiring an Associate Electrical Engineer for a full-time, on-site position. This role involves hands-on work designing, developing, and troubleshooting power conversion systems such as AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters and inverters. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the full product lifecycle-from concept and feasibility to testing and production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document power electronics hardware (schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, etc.)
  • Conduct feasibility studies and component selection
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
  • Support design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Assist in transitioning prototypes to production
  • Follow ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 procedures for documentation and manufacturing

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
    (less experience acceptable with a Master's or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with military or automotive electronics standards, such as:
    • MIL-STD-1275
    • MIL-STD-704
    • MIL-STD-810
    • MIL-STD-461
