Electro-Mechanical Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team focused on designing, developing, and optimizing advanced heating systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and control systems who is passionate about applying mechatronic principles to create energy-efficient, high-performance solutions. You will contribute throughout the product lifecycle-from concept and design to production and field validation-integrating sensors, actuators, control logic, and embedded systems into innovative heating technologies.

Responsibilities

Design & Integration

  • Develop and integrate electromechanical subsystems into commercial platforms (e.g., control valves, ignition systems, pumps, sensors).
  • Design and implement control algorithms and logic for thermal systems, including combustion and safety controls.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Prototyping & Testing

  • Build and evaluate prototypes for new components and features.
  • Create and execute test plans to validate performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, UL, CSA).

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, flowcharts, and test reports.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, efficiency standards, and environmental guidelines.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support ongoing improvements to existing product platforms, focusing on cost reduction, reliability, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in HVAC, thermal systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in control systems design, embedded systems, and mechatronic integration.
  • Experience with PLC programming, microcontrollers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and codes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (e.g., standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs).
