Overview

A manufacturing company is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead all facility, utilities, and environmental compliance operations across a complex production environment. This role oversees building maintenance, capital equipment upkeep, engineering support, hazardous‑waste management, and regulatory compliance while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.


Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Maintenance Leadership

  • Own the facility maintenance strategy, including building systems, capital equipment, and grounds.
  • Ensure reliable operation of HVAC, boiler systems, electrical, plumbing, and other core infrastructure.
  • Reduce equipment‑related downtime by overseeing maintenance planning, scheduling, and work quality.
  • Manage all plant engineering needs, including equipment modifications to support production requirements.

Environmental, Safety & Compliance

  • Lead the hazardous‑waste program and maintain full compliance with federal/state regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Administer the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and ensure conformance to AS9100 and ISO 14000/14001 requirements.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate EMS pre‑audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain inspection calendars, logs, checklists, and compliance documentation.

Utilities & Infrastructure

  • Oversee utilities management and recommend system improvements to sustain operating efficiency.
  • Ensure the upkeep, safety, and reliability of all building systems, facility grounds, and supporting infrastructure.

Planning, Documentation & Coordination

  • Develop and distribute annual and quarterly inspection schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to support facility and production needs.

Contractors, Projects & Budget

  • Specify, select, and approve outside contractors for construction, repairs, and facility upgrades.
  • Review contractor work for adherence to scope, quality, and contract requirements.
  • Manage the maintenance budget and support capital planning as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 7+ years in a related industrial, maintenance, or shop environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with HVAC, boilers, welding, electrical and plumbing systems, forklift and elevator operation, and ISO 14001 environmental management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Solid PC proficiency; MRP experience is a plus.

Preferred

  • Experience coordinating EMS and environmental‑compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 14000/14001 standards.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and contractor relationships.
