Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR function and plays a key role in delivering effective people practices across the organization. This position partners closely with the Human Resources Manager and department leaders to provide guidance on employee-related matters. The ideal candidate demonstrates discretion, sound judgment, collaboration, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Address employee concerns, support performance coaching and disciplinary actions, conduct investigations, and assist with performance management issues.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including workforce needs assessment, job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding.
- Compile time and attendance information, submit payroll inputs, complete HR system transactions, and generate reports as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate employee benefit programs such as health, dental, disability, FMLA, life insurance, flexible spending, and retirement plans.
- Act as a trusted resource to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, practices, and benefits.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and timekeeping systems; process new hires, pay rate changes, and review payroll for accuracy.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities and events in collaboration with employee committees.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Assist in identifying and developing internal talent and succession planning strategies.
- Lead and support change initiatives, encouraging adoption through a positive and proactive approach.
- Design and support employee relations initiatives that promote engagement and workforce growth.
- Assist with the implementation of training and development programs.
- Coach leaders on workforce planning, people planning, and organizational needs.
- Uphold organizational values and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, recruiting, payroll, talent development, and compensation and benefits administration.
- Ability to partner with leaders on talent management and organizational design initiatives.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- High level of emotional intelligence, including strong self-awareness, self-management, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to guide leaders through problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with HRIS systems such as Workday is a plus.
