Hygiene Manager
Our client, a renowned leader in the Consumer Goods sector, is seeking a Hygiene Manager to lead site-level quality, hygiene, and microbiological programs. This role is responsible for driving quality strategy, ensuring regulatory and customer compliance, and partnering cross‑functionally with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain to maintain world‑class manufacturing standards. This role is based out of the Bowling Green, KY area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site quality and hygiene strategy, driving KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements across the facility
- Investigate quality incidents and out‑of‑spec results; implement corrective and preventive actions
- Manage microbiological programs including testing, trending, organism identification, and analysis
- Oversee customer and supplier quality complaints, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
- Partner with Operations and Engineering on quality procedures and hygienic equipment/system design
- Lead internal, customer, and external audits, including hygiene and certification audits
- Manage the Quality Control laboratory and team, driving training and performance development
- Oversee pest control programs, quality documentation, and site‑level risk assessments
- Collaborate with R&D and cross‑functional teams on new products, trials, and method development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in industrial microbiology within a manufacturing environment (food, pharma, or consumer goods industries)
- Prior experience managing or working closely with microbiological or QC laboratories
- Strong knowledge of hygienic manufacturing principles and equipment design
- Experience identifying microorganisms using traditional and automated technologies
- Solid understanding of chemistry and relevant analytical test methods
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills in a plant environment
