Injection Molding Field Service Technician
Position Summary:
A global industrial machinery manufacturer is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical service and support for plastic injection molding equipment. This role primarily involves travel to customer locations for troubleshooting, installation, repairs, and modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Traveling to customer facilities across North America (and occasionally Central and South America) to service injection molding machinery.
Performing troubleshooting, repairs, machine installations, start-ups, and modifications.
Responding to emergency service requests as needed.
Providing phone-based technical support while in the office.
Assisting with in-house machine re-assembly and modifications.
Performing other tasks consistent with experience and capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience servicing plastic injection molding machines.
Strong knowledge of both electrical and hydraulic systems; ability to read and interpret related schematics.
Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Valid, unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to cover travel expenses prior to reimbursement.
Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in confined or awkward spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with injection molding machines, including familiarity with specific major brands.
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in a variety of manufacturing environments, each potentially requiring compliance with individual site access policies (e.g., drug, background, and health screenings).
Up to 90% travel, primarily within North America, with occasional assignments in Central and South America.
