Injection Process Engineer
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a global leader in automotive solutions space who is seeking an experienced Injection Process Engineer to support its manufacturing operations in Chattanooga, TN. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Monitor and control injection molding processes using data-driven tools (e.g., Mattec, IMPC).
- Maintain process stability and implement improvements to enhance consistency and efficiency.
- Lead validation efforts for new tools and processes during product launches.
- Analyze process failures and implement corrective actions.
- Reduce material waste and optimize cycle times, scrap rates, and energy usage.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives, including SMED and continuous improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and process databases.
- Standardize molding practices across teams and facilities.
- Evaluate and test new equipment and technical solutions.
- Design and justify upgrades to reduce downtime and boost productivity.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving with departments such as paint and assembly.
- Foster open communication and alignment within the injection team.
- Provide training and mentorship to technicians and operators.
- Assist in recruiting and evaluating technical talent.
- Own and maintain the injection process FMEA.
- Ensure adherence to standardized work procedures.
- Drive quality improvements and uphold customer satisfaction standards.
- May lead or support robot programming for injection operations.
- Represent the plant in technical forums and internal networks.
- Implement visual management systems to enhance operational transparency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Background in chemical or plastics engineering is a plus.
- 4-7 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in injection molding or plastics.
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, process control, and lean methodologies.
- Experience with robot programming and automation systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in problem-solving and data analysis.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with process monitoring software.
- Proven ability to deliver results in a high-volume production environment.
