Maintenance Manager

A leading global manufacturer in the food and confectionery industry is seeking a passionate and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead plant maintenance operations and ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all equipment and infrastructure. This is a critical leadership role that supports production uptime, food safety compliance, and long-term capital planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for production lines, packaging systems, refrigeration, and utilities. Drive uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve KPIs such as OEE, MTTR, and MTBF.

  • Manage the plant's CMMS to ensure accurate asset records, work order tracking, and maintenance scheduling aligned with production needs.

  • Oversee HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, boilers, and wastewater systems. Ensure facility infrastructure meets food safety and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, and food safety audit requirements. Support internal and external audits with proper documentation and sanitation practices.

  • Manage inventory of critical spare parts and MRO supplies. Optimize stock levels, control costs, and streamline procurement processes.

  • Lead and develop a team of mechanics, electricians, and utility operators. Foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Scope and manage capital projects related to equipment upgrades and facility improvements. Support new product introductions and operational excellence initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. Promote a proactive safety culture and enforce LOTO, confined space, and hot work procedures.

  • Partner with Production, QA, Engineering, and EHS teams to align maintenance efforts with business goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field required; Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • 5-7 years of maintenance/engineering experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems (HVAC, boilers, refrigeration, etc.)
  • Experience in food manufacturing and regulatory compliance (GMP, HACCP, OSHA)
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
  • Familiarity with lean tools (TPM, RCA, PDCA, 5S) and capital project management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills
