Mechanical Workshop Manager (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking a Head of Mechanical Workshop to lead our mechanical maintenance operations at our Hamburg site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for the mechanical maintenance department, including budget ownership.
• Development and management of the maintenance plan for the Hamburg site.
• Ensure implementation of change management processes (MOC) within the function and act as an advisor for mechanical maintenance-related changes.
• Procurement of maintenance-related spare parts.
• Initiate and support site projects by providing technical advice and resources.
• Define standards for all mechanical systems across the site in collaboration with the project team.
• Conduct performance reviews and goal-setting discussions, in coordination with HR and employee representatives where necessary.
• Organise the structure of the mechanical workshop, including defining qualification requirements, and participating in recruitment, transfers, and terminations.
• Provide training and development opportunities aligned with individual development plans and qualification profiles.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors working in mechanical maintenance.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent qualification (e.g. Master Craftsman or Industrial Supervisor).
• Several years of relevant experience in hands-on maintenance.
• Fluent in German (C1 level) and proficient in English (B1 level).
• Independent, structured, and efficient working style.
• Strong problem-solving skills, decision-making ability, and confidence in risk assessment and conflict resolution.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
