About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to lead our packaging operations in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant performance, including production, safety, quality, cost control, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in packaging or manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and on-time delivery
- Drive a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company regulations
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet customer demand
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, waste, downtime, and quality
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
- Manage plant budgets, cost controls, and financial performance
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across production, maintenance, and support functions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, quality, and engineering
- Ensure equipment maintenance programs are effective and downtime is minimized
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (preferred)
- 7-10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a plant management role
- Strong background in packaging, converting, printing, or related industries
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and cost controls
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automated packaging lines or high-speed production environments
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Track record of driving operational improvements and cost savings
- Ability to lead through change and scale operations
