Procurement Specialist - Market Data and Technology

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Procurement professional to support strategic sourcing and vendor management across non-investment-related spend categories for a global asset management organization. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to optimize cost, mitigate risk, and improve service delivery across the firm's indirect spend portfolio.

The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of hands-on indirect category management experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a solid understanding of procurement in a regulated, professional services environment.

Role type: CONTRACT POSITION - 6-12 months
FULLY ON-SITE in New York City

Rate: ~$50 per hour


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for indirect spend categories, which may include:
    • Professional Services
    • Technology & Software
    • Facilities & Office Services
    • Market Data
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, IT, Compliance, HR, and Business Leaders) to understand business needs and develop sourcing strategies aligned with firm objectives.
  • Lead RFPs/RFIs, contract negotiations, supplier selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Drive cost savings, value creation, and supplier performance improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and compliance tracking.
  • Monitor supplier risk, performance, and adherence to regulatory and internal policy requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in indirect procurement or category management, ideally within:
    • Asset management
    • Financial services
    • Banking
    • Professional services or highly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more indirect spend categories.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems, spend analytics, and sourcing tools.
  • Familiarity with vendor risk management and compliance requirements is a plus.
