Production Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead daily operations in our chemical manufacturing facility. This critical role is ideal for a degreed engineer with a strong background in chemical processing and a passion for operational excellence, safety, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise all plant production activities in a chemical manufacturing environment
Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations aligned with OSHA, EPA, and company regulations
Manage production schedules and resources to meet output and quality goals
Oversee and develop production team members, including operators and shift supervisors
Collaborate cross-functionally with EH&S, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar tools
Monitor and report KPIs including yield, uptime, efficiency, and safety metrics
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues; implement corrective/preventive actions
Maintain compliance with internal and external documentation standards
Qualifications:
✅ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline) - Required
✅ 5+ years of experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
✅ Strong working knowledge of chemical processing operations and equipment
✅ Demonstrated success leading teams in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment
✅ Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office
✅ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
Experience with ISO, REACH, or GMP-compliant environments
Knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) standards
