A leading paper and forest products company is seeking a Production Manager to oversee operations at its Oxnard, CA facility. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, and productivity across key manufacturing areas including paper machine operations, secondary fiber, and web welding.
Compensation:
$150K - $200K/year + Bonus
Location: On-site, Oxnard, CA
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance and zero-injury performance
- Oversee paper machine operations, ensuring production, safety, and quality goals are met
- Collaborate with maintenance and leadership to plan labor, resources, and capital projects
- Troubleshoot productivity and quality issues, implementing effective corrective actions
- Lead and coach teams in safe, environmentally sound operating and maintenance decisions
- Analyze data and equipment performance to drive continuous improvement
- Develop and manage crew schedules, training plans, and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with union labor agreements and foster a culture of teamwork
Supervisory Scope:
- Manage both exempt and non-exempt staff
- Responsibilities include training, performance reviews, discipline, and conflict resolution
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven leadership in manufacturing operations, preferably in paper or forest products
- Strong background in safety, compliance, and team development
- Skilled in technical troubleshooting, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience managing unionized teams is a plus
