Production Planning Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal departments including Production, Logistics, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure smooth daily operations and effective communication.
  • Approve and oversee all production planning activities on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis to optimize output, reduce waste, and adapt to market dynamics.
  • Manage inventory levels of finished goods and raw materials to align with customer demand, storage capacity, and financial constraints.
  • Balance transportation cost efficiency with service expectations by negotiating and evaluating shipping and storage expenses.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to support and implement the annual production and sales budget.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning related to sales and production forecasting.
  • Monitor daily order fulfillment processes, including confirmations, logistics coordination, billing, and sales support.
  • Track and report monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead both short- and long-term continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365) to enhance order processing, goods receipt, and production planning workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Engineering, or Business.
  • At least 10 years of experience leading cross-functional teams with a focus on:
    • Production Planning
    • Customer and Order Fulfillment
    • Logistics
  • Strong background in chemical manufacturing or commodity chemicals, especially in continuous production environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP platforms is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), along with strong time management and leadership abilities.
