To support ongoing growth, they are looking for an automation project engineer (m/f/d).
Role Description
In this role, you will take ownership of complex automation projects, driving both investment and optimisation initiatives across process plants.
- Lead automation CapEx and optimisation projects from concept through commissioning to operational handover
- Ensure delivery against budget, timeline, and quality requirements
- Manage and coordinate (sub-)projects in line with internal standards and engineering best practices
- Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, external suppliers)
- Develop technical concepts, specifications, and project documentation
- Define scope, timelines, cost structures, and resource planning
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure proactive stakeholder communication
- Monitor project progress with full ownership of cost, schedule, and quality performance
- Program batch processes in line with ISA-88 standards using Yokogawa Centum VP R6
- Drive continuous improvement and automation optimisation across existing systems
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Your Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent technician background)
- Strong experience managing automation projects within an industrial environment
- Proven track record across full project lifecycle delivery in process plant engineering
- Hands-on expertise in E-MSR, process control systems, and automation technologies
- Experience with ISA-88 batch programming (Yokogawa Centum VP preferred)
- Experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of (bio)process engineering is a plus
- Fluent in German and English
