Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality assurance and control processes within a heavy machinery manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all products meet internal and external quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The Quality Manager leads a team of quality professionals and collaborates cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce defects, and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics, including defect rates, customer complaints, and audit results.
- Conduct internal and external audits, including supplier quality assessments.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is built into every stage of the manufacturing process.
- Manage and mentor quality assurance and control staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality management within heavy machinery or industrial manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, GD&T, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Certification in Six Sigma, CQE, or similar is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
