Sales Engineer
We're looking for a highly driven, customer-focused Sales Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our client's Pack Space Excellence (PSE) team. In this role, you will transform customer requirements into tailored technical solutions, lead application projects, and support the successful deployment and integration of systems. You'll collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management to deliver best‑in‑class packaging solutions.
What You'll Do
Customer & Sales Support
- Act as the primary technical contact throughout the sales and implementation cycle.
- Understand customer needs and translate them into effective packaging concepts in close partnership with the Sales Manager.
- Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, trainings, and trade shows.
- Prepare and present solution proposals, including layouts, cost estimates, and ROI calculations.
- Lead customer-specific application projects, ensuring on‑time delivery within scope and budget.
PSE Project Leadership & Innovation
- Work with Engineering and Product Management to define project scope and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align on requirements and timelines.
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing and deploying customised packaging solutions.
- Support post‑project reviews and continuous improvement activities.
- Share customer insights to guide product enhancements and new product introductions (NPIs).
- Identify opportunities to optimise applications and drive innovation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards (e.g., CE, UL_CA).
Sales Performance & Reporting
- Track and analyse key sales performance metrics, including:
- Sales Conversion Rate
- Revenue Growth
- Sales Cycle Duration
- Pipeline Value
- Customer Satisfaction (NPS/CSAT)
- Technical Win Rate
- Prepare executive‑level reports, dashboards, and presentations on project and performance status.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a strong sales foundation.
- 5+ years' experience in application engineering, ideally in manufacturing or industrial automation.
- Strong customer orientation with the ability to translate needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Solid understanding of logistics systems, automation, and integration processes.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as CE and UL_CA.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-driven mindset.
- Team player with experience in global environments.
- Commercially minded and results-oriented.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
