Position Summary:
The Senior Vehicle Controls Engineer will lead the design, testing, and implementation of control systems for electric vintage vehicles. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, design, and electrical teams, and will be responsible for technical leadership in new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect next-generation ECU and vehicle control systems.
- Define project requirements and system logic.
- Implement and test software and hardware solutions.
- Verify vehicle system operations and performance.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration in product development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in vehicle control systems.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for powertrain and thermal system design.
- Experience with Vector tools (CANape, CANoe, CANalyzer).
- Strong understanding of CAN/LIN protocols and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with the V-Cycle development process.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Automotive industry experience.
- Experience with CAPL scripting (a plus).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for vehicles and engineering innovation.
Work Environment:
- Physical activity including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Work in a clean, organized shop environment with moderate noise levels.
- Use of safety equipment such as ear protection, eye protection, and respirators as needed.
