Overview
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for accelerating growth, profitability, and strategic expansion across Amazon and key ecommerce marketplaces.
The Senior Director will act as the primary Amazon business owner and marketplace strategist, driving performance across retail media, digital shelf, assortment, pricing, and SKU-level profitability.
This role is ideal for a top-performing Director ready to step into broader ownership or a Senior Director looking to build toward VP-level scope.
Scope
- Primary: Amazon (Vendor + Seller Central, Amazon Ads, DSP)
- Secondary: Walmart Marketplace, Wayfair, Target+, emerging platforms
- Ownership: Full marketplace P&L (revenue, margin, ad spend, trade spend)
- Leadership: Manage marketplace, Amazon, and retail media teams
Key Responsibilities
Amazon & Marketplace Strategy
- Own Amazon relationship and lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) execution
- Build and deliver multi-year growth strategy across marketplaces
- Identify expansion opportunities and new platform entry points
Retail Media & Performance
- Own Amazon Ads (SP, SB, SD, DSP) and broader retail media strategy
- Manage ROAS, TACOS, conversion, and customer acquisition
- Lead major events: Prime Day, BFCM, promotional cadence
Digital Shelf & Conversion
- Oversee PDP optimization (A+ content, SEO, brand stores, imagery)
- Drive content standards and scalable launch frameworks
- Improve conversion, search rank, and listing health
Assortment, Pricing & Profitability
- Lead SKU strategy using BSR, whitespace, and competitive insights
- Partner with Finance on margin guardrails, pricing, and promo strategy
- Own trade spend, co-op, and promotional effectiveness
Data & Analytics
- Build executive dashboards (Brand Analytics, Vendor/Seller data)
- Track performance metrics: ROAS, TACOS, SOV, Buy Box, conversion
- Translate insights into growth actions
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Product, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales
- Influence without direct ownership across functions
- Present marketplace performance to senior leadership
Qualifications
- 10+ years in ecommerce, marketplaces, or digital commerce
- 5+ years of hands-on Amazon experience (Vendor or Seller Central)
- Proven ownership of Amazon P&L + ad budgets
- Experience across Amazon Ads, DSP, and retail media
- Strong exposure to Walmart Marketplace, Wayfair, or similar
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Currently a Director or Senior Director looking to step into enterprise-level ownership
- Deep Amazon/operator background (not purely strategic)
- Experience scaling marketplace businesses in consumer goods, retail, or CPG
- Promotion-minded: looking to grow into a VP role
- Open to or already based in Florida
Compensation
- Base Salary: $180,000 - $230,000
- Bonus + additional incentives included
- Relocation assistance provided
