Senior Mechanical Designer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and coordination of mechanical systems across a wide range of energy-related projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in mechanical or piping design and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
This position involves working closely with engineers, designers, and external partners to produce high-quality technical drawings and design documentation from concept through construction. A successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, adaptability, and a solid understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical and piping design drawings, including general arrangements, P&IDs, and isometrics.
- Create and manage 3D models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or SolidWorks.
- Prepares layout plans, schematics, and detail drawings for a range of system types.
- Collaborate with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Support field construction and commissioning teams with design clarifications and modifications.
- Incorporates technical input from internal engineering teams into project designs.
- Conduct site visits to gather existing conditions and support design validation.
- Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and internal coordination meetings.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to best practice development across the design team.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in pipe routing, duct routing, piping system fabrication
- AS or BS in related field
- AutoCAD and Navisworks experience
- Strong Written and Verbal Technical Communications
- Strong attention to detail
