Senior Operations Manager/director
We are collaborating with a leading logistics and freight forwarding company in Belgium, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager/Director to lead its general forwarding and 4PL operations. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to shape and drive operational excellence from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a 4PL team of approximately 15 people and a freight forwarding team of 9 people.
- Be actively present in daily operations, solving issues and guiding the teams.
- Drive process improvements, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance service delivery.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth international freight flows.
- Implement tools and reporting systems to monitor performance and drive efficiency.
- Translate strategic goals into operational execution.
- Support client delivery and ensure SLA/KPI targets are met.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in freight forwarding, 4PL, or logistics operations.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, build-from-scratch environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
- Based in Belgium or willing to relocate.
