Senior Process Control Engineer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Control Engineer to lead automation and control system efforts within our chemical manufacturing operations. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production through advanced control strategies and system optimization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PCS 7, Allen-Bradley, and DeltaV platforms, and a strong understanding of chemical process dynamics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain control systems for batch and continuous chemical processes using PCS 7, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and DeltaV DCS.
  • Lead control system upgrades, expansions, and migrations to support plant modernization and capacity increases.
  • Develop and optimize process control strategies to improve product quality, throughput, and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Manage automation projects including budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and commissioning.
  • Maintain and update documentation including P&IDs, control narratives, loop diagrams, and system architecture.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across automation initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in process control engineering within chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in Siemens PCS 7, Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix), and Emerson DeltaV systems.
  • Strong understanding of chemical process operations, instrumentation, and control theory.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and data historians.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
